Galatasaray are close to signing Portuguese winger Rafael Leao from AC Milan in a deal worth €45 million ($52.1 million).

Axar.az reports, citing Daily Sabah, that the 27-year-old has chosen the Turkish champions over Premier League side Aston Villa, with the final formalities of the transfer now being completed.

Galatasaray confirmed on Saturday that negotiations with Leao and Milan had begun. The player was expected to arrive in Istanbul for a medical examination before completing the move.

Sky Sport reported that the deal includes €43 million in fixed payments and €2 million in bonuses, with Milan retaining a 20% sell-on clause. Leao is reportedly set to sign a contract through 2030.

Leao joined Milan from Lille in 2019 and made 291 appearances for the club, scoring 80 goals and providing 65 assists. He helped Milan win the 2021-22 Serie A title and was named the league's player of the season.

The transfer would be a major addition to Galatasaray’s attack as the club targets a fifth consecutive Turkish league title and another strong Champions League campaign.
