Azerbaijan Premier League records season-high attendance

The Azerbaijan Premier League’s third round has set a new attendance record this season.

Axar.az reports that 13,500 fans attended the Kapaz–Turan Tovuz match, which Kapaz won 1–0. It was the highest attendance of the season so far and the second-highest figure recorded in the league over the past 10 seasons.

Only one Premier League match in the last decade has attracted a larger crowd. Last season’s Qarabag–Sabah fixture drew 17,338 spectators at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku.

The Kapaz–Turan Tovuz game also set a new 10-season attendance record at Ganja City Stadium, which returned to hosting Premier League action after a gap of around three years.

The previous highest attendance at the stadium during that period was recorded in the 2016/17 season, when 14,238 fans watched Qarabag play there on September 25, 2016.
