Azerbaijani boxer Saidjamshid Jafarov has won gold at the European Boxing Championship.

Axar.az reports that Jafarov, competing in the 75kg weight category, defeated Russia’s Ismail Mutsolgov 5-0 in the final, with all five judges scoring the bout 29-28.

Jafarov’s gold came after Subhan Mamedov also won the European title in the 50kg category.

The Azerbaijani national team finished the championship with a record five medals among 406 boxers from 43 countries. The team, led by head coach Ravshan Khojayev, won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Nabi Iskandarov won silver in the 70kg category, while Amin Mammadzada (55kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (+90kg) claimed bronze.
