Axar.az reports, citing Sky Sports, that Erling Haaland opened the scoring after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off for a second yellow card in the 60th minute. Jeremy Doku doubled City's lead before Rayan Cherki sealed the victory.

The match was City's first since an independent commission found the club guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of Premier League financial rules. City have appealed the verdict and continue to deny wrongdoing.

The result leaves City as the only team with a perfect league record, while Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the campaign.
