The former Russian national football player, 43-year-old Alexey Bugaev, a former defender for "Lokomotiv," "Tom," and "Krasnodar" clubs, has been killed in the war in Ukraine.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Sport24.

In September of this year, Bugaev was sentenced to 9 and a half years in prison on drug charges. He was later sent to fight in the war.

Alexey Bugaev began his football career in 2001 with "Torpedo" and ended his career in 2010. He played 7 matches for the Russian national team.
