Hidayat Heydarov out of European Judo Championship

There’s been a change in Azerbaijan’s national judo team ahead of the European Championship.

Axar.az reports according to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation’s press service, Olympic, world, and four-time European champion Hidayat Heydarov has been dropped from the squad due to illness, following medical advice.

He’ll be replaced by Rashid Mammadaliyev in the 73 kg weight category.

The European Judo Championship for seniors will take place in Montenegro from April 23 to 27. Azerbaijan will be represented by 15 judokas — 9 men and 6 women — at the prestigious tournament.
