The car in which seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher won the 2001 Grand Prix has been sold for $18.17 million.

According to the information, the Ferrari F2001 car was sold at an auction in Monaco yesterday.

It should be noted that Michael Schumacher suffered a severe head injury on a ski slope in France in December 2013. He was hospitalized with multiple injuries and bleeding in both hemispheres of his brain. Schumacher came out of a coma in June 2014 and was placed in a rehabilitation center. His treatment has been continuing at his home in Switzerland since September of that year.
