The Yaşar Doğu, Vehbi Emre, and Hamit Kaplan Memorial Tournament continues in Kocaeli, Turkiye.

Axar.az reports that today marked the start of the freestyle wrestling competition.

Azerbaijani national team member Ali Tsokayev had a successful debut in the 86 kg category, defeating all his opponents and claiming the gold medal. With this victory, the total number of medals won at the memorial has reached eight. Yesterday, in Greco-Roman wrestling, the team won 2 silver and 1 bronze, while in women’s wrestling, they earned 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

On the final day of the traditional tournament, five more members of the Azerbaijani team will compete.
