Former Real Madrid football club head coach Carlo Ancelotti has been sentenced to 1 year in prison for tax evasion.

Axar.az informs that the Madrid High Court has decided on this.

According to Spanish law, a prison sentence of up to 2 years is usually suspended.

“The court sentences Ancelotti to 1 year in prison for committing a crime related to the 2014 tax period and acquits him for the 2015 tax period,” the report says.

It should be noted that Ancelotti’s trial began on April 2. According to the Relevo portal, the prosecution believed that Ancelotti paid taxes only on his salary at Real Madrid in 2014 and 2015, and not on additional sources of income. The total amount of the debt was 1.062 million euros.
