Senior cardinals have locked and sealed the doors of Pope Francis’s personal residence in the Apostolic Palace following his death on Monday.

Axar.az reports the palace will remain sealed until the start of the conclave, when cardinals will gather to elect a new Pope.

Yesterday Pope Francis, the 266th Bishop of Rome and Sovereign of the Vatican City, has died at 88.
