Putin demands Donetsk in exchange for ending war

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a phone call with US President Donald Trump, demanded giving up control of the entire Donetsk region in exchange for ending the war in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that this information comes from the Washington Post, citing its sources.

It is noted that in return, the Kremlin might consider renouncing claims to some parts of the partially occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

The publication added that such deals would formalize the occupation of Donbas and, despite Trump’s talk of a “peace plan,” would repeat Moscow’s old demands. Ukrainian and European officials have called this idea unacceptable.
