Switzerland unable to defend itself against large attacks

Switzerland’s Defense Minister Thomas Süssli has stated that the country is not capable of protecting itself against large-scale attacks.

Axar.az reports, citing Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ), that the minister said Bern must increase military spending amid growing threats from Russia.

“Switzerland is prepared for attacks by non-state actors and cyberattacks, but our armed forces are still suffering from technical shortcomings. We are not capable of repelling a full-scale attack against our country. In a real emergency, only about one-third of our army would be fully equipped,” he said.
