In the city of Funchal on Portugal’s Madeira island, an unknown person set fire to the statue of five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Axar.az reports that this information was published by the newspaper Correio da Manhã.

According to the report, the individual poured a flammable liquid on Ronaldo’s statue and then set it on fire.

Police have launched a search for the suspect.
