Netanyahu holds briefing on ‘classified topic’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a classified security briefing focused on Iran as the US weighs a possible military strike, with a decision by President Donald Trump expected in the coming days.

Axar.az, citing Times of Israel, reports that Israel assesses that even a limited US attack, likely targeting Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure, would trigger a significant Iranian response against Israel, prompting a strong Israeli retaliation.

As US forces deploy to the region, Israeli intelligence officials are in Washington sharing target information, while Saudi Arabia and other regional players push for diplomacy and mediation.

Iran has warned of immediate retaliation, signaled readiness for war while leaving the door open to talks with guarantees, and announced live-fire naval drills in the Strait of Hormuz. Russia has cautioned against escalation and is preparing contingencies around Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant.
