Polish Defense Ministry staff detained for spying for Russia

Poland’s Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) detained a long-serving employee of the Ministry of National Defence on Tuesday on suspicion of collaborating with Russian intelligence.

Axar.az informs, citing Onet news website, “The services had been monitoring this man’s activities for many months. His actions were carefully documented and analyzed, which is why the evidence gathered against him is very strong. This is one of our major successes,” a source familiar with the operation told the outlet.

“We inform you that this morning, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence (Niepodległości Avenue, Warsaw), a long-serving employee of the ministry was detained. Charges of cooperation with a foreign intelligence service have been brought against the individual,” the Ministry of National Defence said.
