At least 20 U.S. Air Force military transport aircraft arrived in Armenia and Azerbaijan ahead of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance’s visit.

Axar.az informs according to Sputnik Armenia, the majority of the flights arrived in Yerevan and Baku between February 4 and 8.

Monitoring data show that 12 military transport aircraft landed in Armenia, while nine others flew to Azerbaijan. Most of the planes arrived from U.S. bases, refueling at Germany’s Ramstein Air Base en route.

Nearly all of the flights were carried out using Boeing C-17A Globemaster III aircraft, heavy military transport planes with a payload capacity of up to 77.5 tons. In addition, specialized U.S. Air Force transport aircraft for special operations forces — Lockheed Martin MC-130J Commando II — also flew to Yerevan and Baku.
