Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Defense Council, Ali Shamkhani, said the country’s missile capability is a red line and will not be subject to negotiations, Nour News reported.
Axar.az reports that he warned that any limited military strike against Iran would be regarded as the start of a war.
Shamkhani stated that a conflict in such a strategically sensitive region could not be confined to a specific geography or limited to two sides.
He further warned that military conflict in a region with such high geopolitical sensitivity and concentration of strategic interests cannot be contained within a specific geography or restricted to two parties. According to Shamkhani, given the region’s vast energy resources and critical infrastructure, any war could quickly expand beyond the military sphere and produce global consequences.
Shamkhani noted that the repercussions of a regional conflict could impact the lives of people worldwide, particularly due to the region’s central role in global energy markets.
The representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader to the Defense Council also stressed that the rational path for the opposing side is to take negotiations seriously and refrain from what he described as performative or propaganda-driven actions.
