Turkiye advises caution for vessels near Hormuz Strait

The Directorate General of Maritime Affairs has issued a warning for Turkish-flagged vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az, citing IHA, reports that the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs reported that it has received information that Iran has broadcast radio announcements banning ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and that the ISPS security level for Turkish-flagged vessels in the area is 3.

In a social media post regarding vessel navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the Directorate stated:

"Information has been received that Iran has broadcast radio messages banning ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and the ISPS Code Security Level for Turkish-flagged vessels in the region is 3. It is important to monitor navigation notices in the area and, if necessary, to contact the Turkish Search and Rescue Operations Coordination Center (AAKKM)."
