Turkiye strengthens border protection measures

Turkiye’s Interior Minister Mustafa Chiftchi emphasized the country’s uncompromising stance on border security, public order, and migration management, stating that all developments are being monitored in real time and all units remain on high alert.

Axar.az, citing Turkish media, reports at the Border Security Meeting held at the Interior Ministry, comprehensive measures, emergency action plans, and interagency coordination were reviewed to strengthen border protection, address irregular migration, and enhance on-ground capacity.

Provincial governors from Van, Igdir, Hakkari, and Agri participated via video conference, while representatives from the General Directorate of Security, Gendarmerie, Coast Guard, Migration Management, and Disaster and Emergency Management Authority were also present.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public order and border security with full coordination and readiness.
