Istanbul shootout: Two brothers among three attackers

Three individuals who engaged in an armed clash with police officers on duty in front of the Yapi Kredi Plaza in Istanbul have been neutralized.

Axar.az reports that according to Turkiye’s Interior Minister, Mustafa Ciftci, two police officers sustained minor injuries in the exchange of fire.

"The identities of the suspects have been established. It was determined that they traveled to Istanbul from İzmit in a rental car. One of the suspects was found to have links to a religious extremist group, while two of them were brothers, and one had a prior record related to drug use," he said on X.

It should be noted that the incident occurred near Israel’s Consulate General in Istanbul.
