Polish F-16 scrambled over Russian Il-20 in Baltic

Polish F-16 fighter jets were scrambled on April 8 after a Russian Il-20 aircraft was spotted flying over the Baltic Sea.

Axar.az informs that the Polish Armed Forces’ Operational Command reported that the fighters visually identified and escorted the Il-20 within their area of responsibility.

The aircraft did not violate Polish airspace, the command emphasized.

Earlier, Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that all flights of its military aviation are conducted in accordance with international airspace regulations.
