Russia, Iran Foreign Ministers discuss ceasefire

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

Axar.az reports, citing IRNA, Lavrov expressed hope that the ongoing talks would succeed and welcomed the two-week halt in military operations agreed upon between the United States and Iran.

Araghchi, in turn, thanked Moscow for its principled stance at the UN Security Council during discussions on the situation in the Persian Gulf.

Moscow emphasized that it firmly believes the ceasefire agreement surrounding Iran’s regional conflicts extends to Lebanon.
