Zelensky warns Russia would expand if Donbas conceded

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia would not stop if Ukraine were to give up Donbas, warning that Moscow would continue its territorial ambitions.

Axar.az reports, citing ukrainian media, “An American delegation, including U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, has spent too much time with Putin and Russian officials. The U.S. has failed to fully understand Moscow’s objectives,” Zelensky said.

He added that Kyiv has a clearer understanding of the Kremlin leader’s mindset and military goals than the White House.

“If Ukraine makes concessions and hands over Donbas, Moscow will attempt to advance further. Some Americans believe Donbas is of little importance to us and are reluctant to acknowledge that Russia would continue its occupation even after such concessions. They are confident they can trust Putin,” Zelensky said.
