Macron, Merz and NATO Chief congratulate Tisza Party

French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Hungary’s opposition Tisza Party on its election victory.

Axar.az reports that party leader Peter Magyar wrote about the congratulatory calls on his X account.

According to Magyar, Macron and European People’s Party President Manfred Weber called to congratulate the party on its victory. He also said that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had phoned to extend their congratulations.

It is worth noting that more than 45% of the votes have been counted in Hungary’s parliamentary elections. According to the current results, the opposition Tisza Party has secured 135 of the 199 parliamentary seats.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban has also congratulated his rivals on their victory.
