Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned what he described as an insult to Pope Leo XIV and said that the desecration of Jesus is unacceptable to any free person.

Axar.az reports, “Your Excellency Pope Leo XIV, I condemn the insult to Your Excellency on behalf of the great nation of Iran, and declare that the desecration of Jesus (peace be upon him), the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable to any free person. I wish glory for you from Allah,” Pezeshkian stated on X.

It should be noted that U.S. President Donald Trump has recently criticized Pope Leo XIV’s positions, expressing dissatisfaction over his views on certain U.S. policies.
