Russia says US rejected uranium transfer offer

The proposal for Russia to take custody of enriched uranium from Iran has been rejected by the United States.

Axar.az reports, in an interview with India Today Global, Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated the proposal some time ago, under which Russia would be ready to take enriched uranium onto its territory, describing it as a possible solution to the issue.

“This could have been a very good solution, but unfortunately the American side rejected this proposal, and now it is not on the table of negotiations. Although President Putin is ready to return to this initiative should it be needed by the countries concerned,” the spokesman said.
