Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has called for sustained efforts toward regional peace and security, urging an end to what he described as distrustful behavior.
Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, that Ghalibaf made the statements during a meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir.
“Iran is pursuing comprehensive peace for Iran and the entire region. I hope that those who started the war and are now strongly seeking to stop it will, in practice and action, bring an end to their previous distrustful behavior,” he said.
Ghalibaf added that Iran remains determined to establish full peace and security in the region, but stated that the opposing side has repeatedly hindered the implementation of such measures.
He also emphasized that broader ceasefire arrangements across conflict zones are part of the initial Iran–US agreement mediated by Pakistan, noting that Lebanon is considered an integral part of a comprehensive ceasefire framework.
Separately, General Asim Munir said he had ordered that no security incidents should occur along the Iran–Pakistan border, and stressed the importance of the ceasefire in Lebanon, adding that mediation efforts are being actively pursued.
