No final decision on participation in talks, Tehran says

No final decision has been made in Tehran regarding participation in the next round of talks, and the overall atmosphere remains uncertain.

Axar.az reports, citing Fars News, US media stated that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, may travel to Islamabad on Tuesday, and stated that if talks progress, Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian and Donald Trump could potentially attend a future meeting.

However, according to earlier reports, Donald Trump told ABC that US Vice President JD Vance would not travel due to security concerns.

Fars News also reported that Iran would not consider attending the Islamabad talks while a US maritime blockade continues, and that senior officials would not participate if JD Vance is absent.

A government source denied reports about President Pezeshkian’s possible trip, saying there are no such plans.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry and Supreme National Security Council are maintaining silence amid foreign media speculation.
