Iran grants transit exemptions for Russia in Hormuz

Iranian authorities have introduced exemptions for Russia and several other countries regarding transit fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az reports that this was told by Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali.

According to the report, Tehran introduced the fees due to security-related costs following attacks by the United States and Israel, and the route is currently fully blocked until the U.S. blockade is lifted.

“Our Foreign Ministry is currently working to apply the exemptions provided for friendly countries, such as Russia,” the ambassador said.
