Beckham becomes Britain’s first billionaire sportsman

Former Manchester United and England captain Sir David Beckham has become Britain’s first billionaire sportsman.

Axar.az reports, citing ESPN, Beckham and his wife Victoria are now estimated to have a combined wealth of £1.185 billion ($1.6 billion), placing them second among the world’s richest sports figures after the family of former Formula One chief executive Bernie Ecclestone, whose fortune is estimated at £2 billion.

The report credits Beckham’s wealth to his ownership stake in MLS club Inter Miami, endorsement deals with global brands such as Adidas and Hugo Boss, and long-term commercial partnerships built during and after his playing career.

Beckham, who won multiple Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United, is also a co-owner of one of Major League Soccer’s most valuable clubs.
