US says IRGC officers operating inside Lebanon

U.S. intelligence believes that at least 100 officers from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have arrived in Lebanon in recent months, where they are involved in managing and supporting Hezbollah.

Axar.az reports that the officers are said to be engaged in retraining, rearming, and logistical support operations, including smuggling activities linked to the group.

A source quoted in the report claimed that all Hezbollah activity north of the Zahrani River is directly overseen by IRGC personnel, while operations south of the line are carried out by Lebanese members of the group.

The source also alleged that IRGC members in Lebanon carry local identification documents, including Lebanese passports, and in some cases can blend in due to their language and accents being indistinguishable from local citizens or Hezbollah fighters.
