Iran says $6bn in frozen assets released

Iran has announced that $6 billion of its frozen assets held in Qatar have been released and will be returned to the country.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian sources, the announcement was made by the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a meeting with Grand Ayatollah Shabiri Zanjani.

"According to the planned arrangements, $6 billion out of the total $12 billion of Iran’s assets in Qatar will be released and returned to the country" he said.
