President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan has addressed the participants of the Turkic World Week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.
Axar.az informs, citing APА, the address was delivered by Turkiye's Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gokhan Yazgı.
The address reads:
"I wish this landmark congress, organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First Baku Turkological Congress within the framework of the Turkic World Week, every success and hope it will produce beneficial outcomes for the Turkic world. Some time ago, our intellectuals from different parts of the Turkic world gathered in Baku with the goal of strengthening the awareness of our shared history and culture on the basis of positive sciences. The discussions they held and the decisions they adopted were not only scientific endeavors that continue to illuminate our present day, but also demonstrated determined will and far-sighted vision. Keeping alive, strengthening, and passing on to future generations this idea bequeathed to us by the Baku Congress in every corner of our spiritual geography is a shared responsibility of us all.
Inspired by the motto of the great thinker Ismail Gaspirali, 'Unity in language, thought, and action,' we continue to deepen and expand our activities within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, which is one of the foundations of our institutional cooperation across the Turkic world. Throughout this process, we continue to regard the initiative put forward by the Baku Congress as a guiding light that illuminates our path.
One of Turkiye's foremost goals is to ensure that the Turkic world preserves our common history, language, and culture, and, drawing strength from our ancient past, builds the vision of the Century of the Turkic World. In this context, we are working with all our strength to make the Organization of Turkic States Summit, to be held in Ankara this autumn, where important decisions will be adopted, a turning point that will shape our objective of Turkic world integration.
There is no doubt that the discussions to be held during this landmark event will expand our opportunities for cooperation and make significant contributions to the Ankara Summit and to the future of the Turkic world as a whole. Just as the holding of the First Turkological Congress in 1926 was no coincidence, it is equally no coincidence that this important event is also being organized in Baku. Azerbaijan, one of the strongest symbols of the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world, will continue to contribute to the common goals of the Turkic states.
With these thoughts, I congratulate everyone, as well as all institutions and organizations, involved in organizing this event. On the occasion of the congress, I respectfully commemorate our ancestors who participated in the First Turkological Congress and wish that our Turkic unity, solidarity, and brotherhood will endure forever," the address says.
