White House 'not bothered' by Netanyahu’s Gaza plan

The White House is "not bothered" by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks on U.S. President Donald Trump's Gaza plan and views them as part of Israel's election season.

Axar.az informs that Axios journalist Barak Ravid made the remarks on X, citing a senior U.S. official.

"We understand Bibi's political needs. We have no problem with it as long as he continues to do what we ask — especially regarding restraining attacks in Gaza," the official said.

According to the official, Netanyahu spoke by phone with Trump's envoy Jared Kushner last week and promised to give the 15-point plan a chance despite his skepticism. He also agreed to curb attacks on Gaza so that the process of demilitarizing the territory could begin.

"Since then, Israel hasn't conducted attacks on Gaza and the IDF is gradually moving back to the Yellow Line," the official said.

At the same time, the United States and mediators are demanding that Hamas begin disarming.
