Iran is preparing for the "worst-case" war scenarios and would take a more offensive approach if attacked again.

Axar.az reports, citing Iran International, that Rasoul Sanaei-Rad, deputy for political affairs at the ideological-political office of Iran’s commander-in-chief, made the remarks.

"We must reach a level of power where we can respond to any attack, in any form and at any level, and have offensive capabilities in addition to defensive capabilities," he said.

"Our fighters have their fingers on the trigger," Sanaei-Rad added. "If the enemy commits a foolish act, it must experience a much greater defeat in a possible future war."

He also said reopening the Strait of Hormuz was not something the US could decide unilaterally and that "nothing will happen" unless the other side meets its commitments.
