Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei criticized Canada over what he described as its subservient role in supporting U.S. military operations against Iran.

Axar.az reports that in a post on X, Baghaei responded to reports of Canada’s covert support for Washington, writing that the United States calls Canada its “51st state,” imposes tariffs on Canadian goods, insults Canada and threatens to punish it over wildfire smoke.

“And Ottawa’s response? ‘Understood, Sir!’” he wrote.

Baghaei said Ottawa was apparently seeking to appease Washington by participating in what he called the “unlawful US war of choice” against Iran.

“What’s the reward?” he asked.

“This is not hockey night in Canada; it is Washington’s farm team,” Baghaei concluded.
