Iran sees us-israel ceasefire as preparation for new war

Iran believes that U.S. and Israeli efforts to reach a ceasefire are aimed solely at easing pressure on the markets and preparing for a new phase of hostilities, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that the newspaper made the claim, citing unnamed officials and intelligence data.

According to the newspaper, Tehran believes that the current talks may be merely an “interlude before the conflict,” while the memorandum that was signed “was probably an attempt by the United States and Israel to ease pressure on the global economy and buy time.”

The newspaper writes that Tehran’s readiness to fight back points “to deep mistrust that will likely prevent the two sides from reaching a lasting agreement to quickly end the conflict.”
