Authorities launched a search operation Saturday after a report that an aircraft had crashed in Giresun province in northeastern Turkiye’s Black Sea region.

Axar.az informs, citing Turkiye Today, that according to the Giresun Governor’s Office, the reported crash occurred near Deregozu village in Piraziz district.

A helicopter reportedly carrying out work on high-voltage power lines had crashed in the area, officials said, though no wreckage or traces had been found so far.

The cause of the reported crash was not immediately known, nor was there immediate information on how many people may have been on board.
