Yemen's Houthi movement said on Saturday it had carried out missile strikes targeting sites in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, and Aramco facilities in the port city of Yanbu.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, that Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group had launched two operations using ballistic and cruise missiles.

Saree said the strikes were carried out in retaliation for recent Saudi attacks on Yemen's capital, Sanaa.

The claims came hours after a fire broke out at a fuel depot near King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Residents reported hearing explosions after Saudi authorities issued an overnight warning of a “hostile aerial threat.”

Saudi authorities have not confirmed the Houthi claims but said they had intercepted incoming missiles and drones. The Saudi government has not yet provided details about the reported explosions or the fire.
