More than 400 flights have been delayed at four Moscow airports since the start of Sunday amid what Russian authorities described as the largest drone attack on the capital.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that 11 flights were cancelled at Vnukovo Airport, while 60 departures and 69 arrivals were delayed. More than 10 aircraft en route to the airport were diverted to alternate airports.

At Sheremetyevo, around 35 flights were cancelled, while 121 arrivals and 126 departures were delayed. Some flights were redirected to Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Cheboksary and St. Petersburg. Domodedovo reported 27 delayed arrivals and one cancelled flight, while Zhukovsky reported nine delayed flights and two cancellations.

Aeroflot and Pobeda also announced schedule changes, with some flights delayed or cancelled due to temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures.

The restrictions at all four Moscow airports were later lifted, and the airports resumed normal operations under revised schedules.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 1,600 drones had been intercepted across Russia since the start of the day, including 450 approaching Moscow. He described the attack as unprecedented.
