Man throws wine at PM Magyar at harvest festival - Video

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar was targeted with wine by a man during a visit to a harvest festival in Szekszard on Saturday.

Axar.az reports, citing Daily News Hungary, that Magyar was returning from Pecs, where he had addressed supporters, when he stopped at the Szekszard Harvest Days festival. The man threw wine at him while he was speaking with attendees and taking photos.

Magyar later shared a video of the incident on Facebook and described the man as a former supporter of Viktor Orban. He also joked that the Szekszard wine had been wasted.

“At least he didn’t tie me to a fence, as they teach on HirTV,” Magyar wrote.

HirTV subsequently dismissed presenter Nora Palanyi over the latter call, apologised, and launched an internal investigation.
