US Special Presidential Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff said the United States held lengthy talks with an Iranian delegation on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Axar.az reports that Witkoff made the remarks in a post on X.

“Today, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, we engaged in lengthy talks with the Iranian delegation through the mediators, who shuttled between the two sides throughout the day,” Witkoff said.

He said the mediators had successfully completed a round of discussions that the US hopes will prove “constructive and promising.”

“The mediators will continue their work,” Witkoff added.
