A man has been arrested in a reopened investigation into the 2011 death of former Turkish intelligence officer Kasif Kozinoglu, over outside intervention in the script of the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that Bayram Ozbek was arrested on charges of “establishing or leading an armed terrorist organization” and “inciting intentional killing.”

Kozinoglu died at Silivri Prison on November 12, 2011. An earlier investigation into his death ended in 2012 with a decision not to prosecute. The case was reopened in 2026 after the Silivri Criminal Judgeship of Peace overturned that decision on August 26.

As part of the renewed investigation, several episodes of Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu were examined, particularly scenes involving the character Kazim Kasifoglu. In an episode broadcast on November 10, 2011, the character was threatened with death, two days before Kozinoglu died in prison.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Ozbek was identified as having intervened externally in the series’ script. He was referred to the Silivri Criminal Judgeship of Peace and subsequently ordered detained.
