Armenia, Kyrgyzstan approve visa-free stay agreement

The Armenian government has approved a proposal to sign an agreement with Kyrgyzstan on the procedure for the entry and stay of citizens of the two countries.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the decision was adopted at a government meeting on October 8.

Under the proposed agreement, citizens of both countries will have the right to enter, leave, transit through and stay in the territory of the other country for up to 90 days on an equal basis. However, their stay without registration must not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.

Citizens will be required to register with the relevant internal affairs authorities after staying in the country for more than 30 days.

The Armenian Cabinet also approved a proposal to sign a protocol on implementing the readmission agreement between the governments of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The protocol is aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries on migration and combating illegal migration.
