Saudia identifies pilot killed in Riyadh airport attack

Saudi Arabia’s national carrier Saudia on Friday identified Captain Hamoud Ali al-Kalthami as one of the victims killed in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh a day earlier.

Axar.az reports, citing Al Arabiya, in an obituary published on Friday, the airline confirmed that al-Kalthami lost his life during Thursday’s incident at the airport.

“It is with profound sadness that Saudia announces the passing of Captain Hamoud Ali al-Kalthami, who lost his life on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in the incident at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh,” the airline said.

The announcement came after Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed on Friday that three Saudi nationals were killed in two attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport on Thursday.
