A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck the Marmara Sea on Saturday evening, with tremors felt across Istanbul.
Axar.az reports, citing Turkiye Today, that according to Turkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake occurred at 10:08 p.m. local time.
The agency placed the epicenter in the Marmara Sea, about 4.66 kilometers from the central district of Yalova, a city on the sea’s southern coast roughly 90 kilometers southeast of Istanbul.
The quake struck at a depth of 7.96 kilometers, according to AFAD data, with coordinates placing it at 40.698 degrees north latitude and 29.256 degrees east longitude.
