Two Indian sailors missing after attack on tanker off Oman

Two Indian seafarers are missing after a drone attack on the tanker MT Petro Dolphin at Sohar Anchorage on October 11, India’s Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said.

Axar.az reports that Sonowal stated on his X account that nine of the 11 Indian crew members had been rescued and were safe, while search-and-rescue operations were continuing with the local Coast Guard.

In a separate incident, the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker MT Valthera, also carrying 11 Indian seafarers, was struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on October 11, causing a fire on board. All 11 crew members were reported safe.

It should be noted that the UK had earlier reported an attack on another tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
