Iran warns vessels of severe punishment in Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned vessels against passing the Strait of Hormuz with their navigation and identification gear off.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that the IRGC Navy’s press office said in a statement that all vessels in the Strait of Hormuz that disable these systems will be classified as hostile.

In such cases, the vessels "will be subject to severe punishment," it warned.

"Three tankers that violated Iran's rules [for transiting the Strait of Hormuz] have struck sea mines and caught fire" since yesterday, it added.
