The Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides in Syria has delivered humanitarian aid to the Dali Fa'r settlement near the city of Manbij in the northeastern part of the Syrian province of Aleppo, the Center’s spokesman Pavel Matreninsky told reporters.

Axar.az reports citing TASS.

"Having reconnoitered the area and held meetings with local administration members, we chose this particular village because people there are poor, so we carried out a humanitarian mission, delivering 500 food kits with tinned meat, sugar, rice, flour, tea and bread," he said.

According to the spokesman, there are several dozens of settlements in the area, where civilians need assistance, so the Center will continue delivering humanitarian goods. Local authorities are providing the Russian military with information about people in need.

"Locals are very positive about the presence of Russian military servicemen, military police officers and the Center’s representatives. They always welcome us," Matreninsky said.

In December 2018, locals asked the Syrian government to take control of the Manbij area. Kurdish fighters who used to control it, voluntarily moved to areas east of the Euphrates River. Russian military police officers are now patrolling the area.
