An Armenian trying to smuggle military equipment arrested

An Armenian trying to smuggle military equipment from Russia to Armenia has been arrested.

Axar.az reports that a resident of Russia's Yaroslavl region, Safaryan, of Armenian descent, tried to smuggle military equipment to Armenia. He was apprehended by Federal Security Service officers while receiving a $ 1,000 periscope target for an infantry fighting vehicle.

On July 30, Moscow's Butyrskaya District Court sentenced Safaryan to two years in prison.
